Peripheral Parts : Mounting Kits

The upper mounting parts of struts and spring seat shock absorbers are the most subject to wear.

They usually comprise a bearing and a rubber part, or an integrated unit, which can be damaged by different factors:

  • exterior elements (water, grit, sand, mud, etc.)
  • frequent steering of the wheels (i.e. when parking a car)
  • high compression due to bad road conditions

Installing new Mounting Kits offers the following advantages:

  • Better suspension performance, improving road holding and driving safety
  • Easier steering
  • Elimination of noise while steering
  • Reduced vibration, especially in the steering wheel, improving comfort.

Peripheral Parts : Protection Kits

When replacing struts or spring seat units, always check the compression bumper and the dirt shield around the piston rod. These parts are included in the Monroe Protection Kit; their role is important role but often forgotten. Dirt shields help increase the life of the shock absorber by protecting the piston rod in 2 ways:

  • They allow draining of pollutants (water, mud, sand) to protect the road coating
  • They avoid shocks from the impact of stones, protecting the rod from surface damage

The compression bumper improves the quality of the suspension thanks to its micro-cellular polyurethane foam. It allows optimum distribution of the car weight over the 4 suspended corners of the car because it offers permanent dynamic loading.

  • Each Monroe® Protection Kit has been designed to provide long life protection for newly installed shock absorbers.
  • The compression bumper is designed for permanent dynamic loading, made from highest quality, close cell, microcellular polyurethane.
  • The dirt shield is made of thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer for long lasting protection of the piston rod against corrosion and impacts.
  • Unique bumper attachment method ensures solid assembly and long service life.
  • Provides optimal driving stability on higher suspension movements.
  • Protects the piston rod from scratches or small impacts produced by road objects such as stones.
  • Protects the chrome of the piston rod from asphalt deposits that could damage the shock absorber's sealing while driving over new roads.
  • Protects the compression valve from strong impacts due to bad road conditions.
  • Optimal driving stability of the car during higher suspension movement.
  • 75 different products covering more than 83% of cars.
